What's New For the 2019 Hyundai Tucson?

Judging from their popularity, lots of people love crossovers for the interior space and versatility. But many admirers want the adaptable freight and passenger room in moderation, and that's where a compact crossover like the 2019 Hyundai Tucson provides the perfect solution. Along with a versatile interior, it provides a safe, economical ride.

Which Trims and Features are Available for 2019?

For a compact crossover, the 2019 Hyundai Tucson is quite voluminous with overhead space of 39.6 inches in the first row and 39.2 inches in the second. Legs are just as easily accommodated with 41.5 inches up front and 38.2 inches for rear commuters. This crossover's just as accommodating for inanimate objects with a 31 cubic foot storage section that grows to 61.9 cubic feet with the second row easily tucked away. The seating in the six Tucson models, SE, Value, SEL, Sport, Limited, and Ultimate, is as enjoyable as the ample leeway around it with the SE offering cloth seats with 6-setting manual adjustment for the driver's seat.

The Value edition adds two more settings and automates adjustments while adding heat to the front row. The Limited version covers the seats in leather and gives the front passenger seat 8-setting automated positioning. Rear seats in the Ultimate edition get heating while the front seats receive ventilation. The ride becomes even more pleasant with features like air conditioning, 6-speaker AM/FM radio, a USB port, three 12-volt outlets, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity on the SE edition. The Value edition adds HD and Sirius XM radio to the mix. A second-row USB port and dual climate control zones become available on the SEL model.

The Sport edition lets drivers charge personal electronic wirelessly while adding two extra speakers. Finally, the ultimate opulence is offered by the Ultimate edition through an 8-inch touchscreen and a panoramic sunroof.

Amazing Performance and Good Fuel Economy

2019 Hyundai TucsonAlthough both Tucson engine options are geared towards the needs of a vehicle with the Tucson's dimensions, there's still an appreciable choice between fuel economy and brawn. On the economical side, the 2-liter inline-4 gives buyers 161 horsepower and an estimated 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway in cooperation with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Opting for all-wheel drive alters this to an estimated 22 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

If a beefier workhorse is desired, the 2.4-liter straight-4 brews up 181 horsepower while still presenting an estimated 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway in concert with the same 6-speed automatic transmission featuring Shiftronic technology that lets the operator take control. With all-wheel drive added to this combination, gas usage becomes an estimated 21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

What are the Safety Features on the 2019 Tucson?

2019 Hyundai TucsonThe 2019 Hyundai Tucson backs its rugged frame with airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and a rearview camera. Smart safety like frontal impact alert with emergency braking, driver attention alert, and lane holding assistance come with all Tucson models. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic warning is included with all editions except the entry-level SE version. Surround video surveillance is also added to the Limited and Ultimate editions while the Ultimate model has the ability to recognize pedestrians in its path.
