Hyundai Hope on Wheels Celebrates Largest Year Yet at 27th Anniversary Gala

Cancer can affect people at any stage of life, but it feels especially heartbreaking when a child faces such a serious illness. While many cancers are treatable, not all are, so Hyundai launched the Hope on Wheels initiative to fund research to improve survival rates.

What Has Hyundai Done So Far?

Hope on Wheels entered its 27th year in 2025, and to mark the milestone, the company pledged $27 million. The commitment was announced at a gala in Washington, D.C., attended by company leaders, researchers, and other key partners. The charity has contributed $27 million to hospitals and research organizations to support their lifesaving work.

The Program Is Expanding

For most of its history, Hope on Wheels has concentrated on helping children in the United States. Earlier in 2025, the program expanded into Canada, and there are plans to extend it into Mexico as well. That growth will give healthcare teams, patients, and families in those countries more resources to fight childhood cancer.

The Program Has Yielded Positive Results

Partly thanks to Hope on Wheels, the survival rate for childhood cancers has risen from 75% to 85%. The ultimate aim is to ensure every child survives and thrives after cancer. Continued research helps identify causes and develop treatments that are better tailored to each patient.
