Hyundai has officially partnered with American tech company Cisco in an effort to accelerate the development of connected car technology. The two companies will work together to establish Hyundai’s next-generation of in-vehicle networks, which will help further efforts in car connected technology and lead to the creation of safer, high-quality cars, trucks and SUVs.
“Future connected cars will open new innovations in quality, safety, and security, as never before. By expanding time and space, more safety will be guaranteed for our customers. Hyundai Motor will provide new values that go beyond our customers’ expectations in safety, quality and security through cooperating with Cisco. This collaboration will be a chance to bring closer the Hyundai Motor-led future of connected cars and shift paradigms of new mobility,” said Euisun Chung, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor.
Hyundai and Cisco will begin their partnership by developing the aforementioned in-vehicle networks, which will lead to a faster transmission of data within the car and improve communication between the subsystems in the vehicle. The two companies will also create a simulation testing environment, providing them with the opportunity to analyze the flow of data and evaluate new car connected technologies.
