Move over GM, because there is a new head honcho in town. Hyundai has been announced as the new official automotive sponsor of the National Football League, a sponsorship previously held by the controversial American brand GM. The deal, which spans over the course of four years, will open up Hyundai to the NFL's large fanbase, giving them the ability to introduce more buyers to their lineup of dependable, high quality cars. The automaker will also have the chance to highlight their brand story and present themselves to the masses.

The new sponsorship with the NFL is a huge push for Hyundai and will open up new doors for the brand. They will be able to use NFL trademarks throughout their marketing campaigns and be a part of the league's biggest events, including the NFL Combine, NFL Draft, NFL Kickoff, NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl. Hyundai will make its first big appearance during this year's NFL Kickoff, which will happen on Sept. 10.

"We can't wait to show the NFL's 188 million fans the great design, advanced technologies, dynamic performance and numerous safety features within the Hyundai lineup," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. "The NFL and Hyundai also share a commitment to helping the communities where we do business, another important aspect of our sponsorship."

Keep an eye out for Hyundai models at NFL events throughout the upcoming season. Fan favorites, including the Sonata and Genesis, are likely to make appearances as official NFL promotional vehicles.
