Each year Hyundai hosts their annual R&D IDEA Festival in Korea, where their engineers get to show off some of their craziest concept cars. A competition of sorts, the company's engineers spend months prior to the event developing creative concept cars that aim to alter transportation as we know it. At this year's competition, many great prototypes were presented, but only four were chosen as the very best. The models beat out six other projects to make it in the winner's circle and cement themselves as the future of mobility.
Hyundai's R&D IDEA Festival named the Golden Time Rescue, Length and Width, Carry U and Hyundai Car-Meleon their four top prototypes. Catch a glimpse of each one and read a brief intro about them below!
Golden Time Rescue

This unique model was specially designed to tackle rescue missions on a variety of terrain. Its tires change to suit different conditions, making it easier for emergency personnel to reach those in distress.
Length and Wide

One of the most complex contraptions presented at Hyundai's R&D IDEA Festival, Length and Wide has the ability to fold itself horizontally or vertically. This skill allows it to pass through both wide and narrow areas in a cinch, making it drivable in any location.
Carry U

A luggage carrier like no other, the Carry U can convert into a scooter. It's capable of making short-distance trips and perfect for getting around the airport.
Hyundai Car-Meleon

The Hyundai Car-Meleon gets its name from its ability to change shapes. It can transform into a truck, sedan or RV, meeting various needs.
