Putting out the best products possibly is incredibly important to Hyundai. From using the highest quality build materials to developing cutting-edge engineering strategies and endurance tests, Hyundai's team makes the effort to implement assurance checks through every step of the vehicle making process.
Even after going through rigorous inspections in the manufacturing facility, the Sonata and Elantra are put to work on the street for one final examination. In the video below, Hyundai's Bumper-to-Bumper crew head to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA), where the Sonata and Elantra are driven around the plant's 2.3 mile test track.
On the track, HMMA members perform a series of assessments to see if there are any defects or issues with wheel alignment, air conditioning, suspension, transmission, engine and other vehicle systems. And, yes, this is done for every Sonata and Elantra that rolls off the assembly line.
The cars are driven at various speeds - from slow to fast and with cruise control - while HMMA associates listen closely for strange noises and other signs that something may be askew. Each car is also scanned by a high-tech laser-based wheel alignment system that can identify even the smallest drivability issues.
Once the cars are determined to be up to spec they're sent off to dealerships. The fascinating journey culminates when customers like you take a test drive! And now that you know a little more about what goes into assuring the quality of Hyundai's cars, you can feel even more confident in knowing that what independent researchers have said all along is true: Hyundais are some of the most reliable vehicles available in the automotive industry.
