What's New For the 2020 Hyundai Sonata?

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata underwent a major comprehensive design overhaul to commemorate its 7th generation of production. The most noticeable change to the redesigned Sonata is its sleek, aggressive, all-new, exterior body design that provides a coupe-like style, along with a few more inches of overall length and width.

Inside the revamped, sophisticated new cabin, you'll find updated premium amenities like high-quality soft-touch materials, chrome accents, an available 12.3-inch high-resolution LCD instrument panel, and 10.3-inch touchscreen BlueLink infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. For 2020, the Sonata ditches the traditional gear shifter and replaces it with the space-saving, Shift-By-Wire, innovative push-button shifting system. This year's Sonata now features state-of-the-art cell phone integration capability, featuring mobile phone-based entry and ignition, as well as the ability to summon and park the vehicle remotely from outside the car.

Also new for the 2020 model year, the Sonata unveils two new powertrain options. A new standard-equipped, 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine, as well as an optional turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder motor, are now responsible for powering the new Hyundai Sonata model line. Hyundai's cutting edge SmartSense suite of semi-autonomous, driver assist, safety technologies now comes standard on all 2020 Sonatas. The Smartsense hi-tech driver safety package also receives a few upgrades and capability enhancements, most notably upgraded Blind-Spot Alert, which now synchronizes with the car's LCD instrument cluster to provide real-time imaging of both left and right blind spots, seamlessly on the cockpit display.
