2023 Hyundai Tucson vs 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai's popular compact SUVs have earned recognition among American drivers for their stylish and smart designs that cater to drivers' needs. The Tucson is known for its muscular exterior, while the Santa Fe offers pure elegance with its refined look. These two models differ in various aspects of design and capability, making it essential for undecided buyers to research their specs before deciding.

Performance

The Santa Fe's 2.5L base model engine generates 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. In contrast, the Santa Fe's initial trims come with a 191 horsepower 2.5L engine. Unlike the Tucson, the Santa Fe's Limited and Calligraphy trims have a more powerful second turbocharged 2.5L engine, producing 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Tucson, on the other hand, offers only one engine option with 187 horsepower.

Appearance

The 2023 Tucson has a rounded appearance, with a much lower and sloping hood than the 2023 Santa Fe. The Tucson has 19-inch alloys, while the Santa Fe's Calligraphy trim comes with standard 20-inch wheels. The Calligraphy also offers additional exterior options like an authentic dark chrome grille design. The Tucson has an N Line exclusive grille, which is not available on the Santa Fe. While both models offer dark chrome grille accents, the Tucson doesn't have a full chrome grille.

Features

Both the Tucson and Santa Fe have family-friendly interiors. The Santa Fe's base model comes with stain-resistant cloth seats and has quilted premium Nappa leather seats as standard on its Calligraphy trim. Meanwhile, the Tucson's base model has regular cloth seating and leather-trimmed seats as standard on its Limited trim. Although the Santa Fe offers more upholstery options and greater detail, the Tucson has exciting exclusives such as Black sport leather/cloth seats.
