Reliable at Chestnut and 65 would like to thank everyone who participated in our teacher nomination contest held last month. We received a lot of great stories about some of your favorite teachers throughout the Springfield area and we’re excited to announce that Michele Pate, a fourth grade teacher at Stockton Elementary School, is our grand prize winner!
There were a total of 70 nominees in the running for our favorite teacher contest, but out of all the contenders Michele Pate received the most votes from the public. As our big winner, Michele has received a cash prize of $1,000 that she can spend absolutely anywhere! In addition to our grand prize winner, we also gave out a $300 cash prize to our runner-up Dana Woodward, an English teacher at Hollister High School, and a $200 cash prize to Cory Sutherlin, a third grade teacher at Pittman Elementary, who came in third. It's the least we can do to show our appreciation for the hard work they put in day in and day out to teach the youth of Springfield and prepare them for their journey into the world.
In addition to our teacher nomination contest, we also held a Back-to-School Sock Drive throughout the month of August in partnership with Care to Learn that was a huge success. We were able to collect an incredible amount of donations, which will benefit many children in need from throughout the community.
