Automotive technology is constantly changing each year, with more and more brands integrating all-new innovative features in their latest models. Just in the past few years, we've seen the introduction of high-end components, such as automatic parking and Bluetooth hands-free calling, and now we're about to experience complete smartphone integration for the first time with the upcoming release of Apple CarPlay and Google's Android Auto.

While there are current cars on sale that offer partial smartphone integration, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the first two systems offering 100-percent smartphone integration that will become available on Hyundai models and other participating nameplates in the future. Complete with voice activation, each system will allow drivers to access their phone's features safely during their commute. Apple CarPlay will give iPhone users the ability to utilize Siri in order to input directions using Apple Maps, make phone calls, listen to/write text messages and retrieve their music catalogue. Android Auto will provide similar features for android users and both systems will also support a variety of apps, including Spotify, iHeartRadio, NPR and Pandora. In addition to utilizing voice activation, drivers will be able to select functions via a touchscreen interface, knobs and dials, giving users the opportunity to easily access all features.
With the addition of Google's Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, owners will gain a brand-new experience when driving Hyundai models. CarPlay and Android are both currently expected to debut later this year on the all-new 2015 Hyundai Sonata.
