Hyundai's midsize family CUV makes Ward's 10 Best Interiors List
The Santa Fe Sport's "Fluidic Sculpture" design language has won over WardsAuto, following in the footsteps of its siblings the 2012 Hyundai Accent and Azera, which made the list last year. Ward's Executive Editor, Tom Murphy, stated that the latest incarnation of the Santa Fe Sport "is the essence of a midsize family CUV: well-crafted, tastefully appointed and affordable" with an "upscale look and feel." The 10 best interior winners were selected from a group of 46 vehicles with significantly revised or completely redesigned cabins. The publication's editors thoroughly inspected each vehicle's driver information systems; seating accessibility and comfort; and fit-and-finish, among other aesthetic and function-based vehicle characteristics. Editors literally hopped in and out of back seats and, in crossovers and large SUVs, climbed in and out of third rows. They also connected their own smartphones to every vehicle to check out Bluetooth and other voice-activation systems.
Like Ward's 10 Best Engines competition, the interiors contest rates vehicles based on daily commuting. The Santa Fe Sport made the 10 Best Interiors list because of the comfort, safety and convenience it offers on everyday travels.
