Earlier this summer the guys at Automobile Magazine put a handful of family crossovers to the test in a grueling five-day competition to find out which SUV would come out on top. The contenders were as follows: Chevy Traverse, Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander - all 2013 model year vehicles.
Automobile Magazine's testers based their winners on price, interior, exterior, engines, safety, mpg and an extended road trip. As the days wore on and the head-to-head battles continued, crossovers began dropping like flies. On day five it came down to the final matchup, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe versus the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder.
