The global hydrogen energy transition is already in motion, and Hyundai is thrilled to position itself at the forefront of this landmark shift. Unveiling their XCIENT Fuel Cell truck stood out as one of the most exciting moments at the ACT Expo in Anaheim, California. Hyundai customized the XCIENT FC specifically for North American buyers, emphasizing advanced driver assistance systems alongside multiple hydrogen innovations that deliver enhanced performance and technology.

The ACT Expo ran from April 28 to May 1, 2025. Although Hyundai has claimed a leadership role in the hydrogen energy movement, the company isn't content with simply participating—it aims to lead the charge. Ken Ramirez discussed Hyundai's bold vision for the XCIENT FC and its hydrogen advancements.
"At Hyundai Motor, we are redefining the future of clean logistics with innovative solutions that prioritize safety, efficiency, and sustainability," Ramirez says, "By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems features and forging strategic partnerships to enhance operations and infrastructure, we are empowering our fleet partners to navigate a rapidly changing landscape and lead the transition to a smarter and more sustainable future."
Hearing Hyundai's goals was inspiring, but the real excitement came when they revealed the fruits of their labor: the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell truck. The production model was the star of the 2025 EXPO. So, what makes it special? Hyundai promotes it as the "world's first mass-produced hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck, advancing zero-tailpipe emission commercial transportation." While the truck has already launched in other regions, this North American edition is brand new and set to elevate commercial hauling.
The North America-spec model will include an upgraded fuel cell system delivering up to 2,237 NM of torque. Under ideal conditions, it can achieve a range of 450 miles. Inside, drivers will find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display complete with physical controls.
Truckers interested in harnessing hydrogen power should explore the XCIENT Fuel Cell truck.
