At the Chicago Auto Show in 2023, Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Capital America officially unveiled their new Evolve+ electric vehicle subscription program. Consumers can test-drive Hyundai's electric vehicles without committing to a purchase or a longer-term lease. This new service offers convenience and cost. Evolve+ is a month-to-month subscription service with a starting price of $699 for a Kona Electric and $899 for an IONIQ 5.i. It includes 1,000 miles, insurance, maintenance, registration, and roadside assistance.
There is no need for a long-term commitment; the subscriber may cancel at any moment throughout each membership period. Customers who use other subscription services must commit to a minimum 3- to 5-month term. Select dealerships in six states presently offer Evolve+, and more are expected to do so before the year is up. Within the app, customers may locate open vendors.
How does this subscription work?
Customers only need to download the Evolve+ app to a smartphone from Google Play or the Apple Store. They begin by looking for a car by price and zip code, then pick a model from the available stock, and select an easily extendable monthly term. There is no need for haggling because the price is clearly stated. They either establish a new account or log in to their existing one. The user qualifies by following in-app steps, then uses a credit card to pay for the subscription. The vehicle is reserved with a credit card payment, and the dealership pickup time is selected.
The following criteria must be met to qualify:
- At least three years of recent driving experience
- A spotless driving record
- At least three years of recent driving experience and a spotless driving record
- A valid US driver's license and a credit card in your name (debit and prepaid cards are not allowed) are both required
- A credit score of 650 or above
The monthly duration of 28 days comprises 1,000 miles. Your account will automatically be charged an extra $20.00 for each increment of 100 miles up to 1,500 miles if you travel more than 1,000 miles in 28 days. After that, a fee of $1 per mile will apply to any miles traveled more than 1,500. Utilize all 1,000 of your allowed miles within 28 days, or they will automatically carry over if you renew your subscription.
