We are beyond pleased to announce that the all-new Hyundai Genesis and Sonata have made the short list for North American Car of the Year! Out of all the brands included in the compilation, Hyundai was the only one to have two cars recognized for their excellence, increasing the automaker's odds of winning the prestigious award. Over the years, the brand has won the title twice: once in 2009 for the Genesis and again in 2012 for the Elantra, and they hope to add a third win to their list for 2015.

"This is a tremendous recognition of two great products and an outstanding team effort," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. "Our design group, assembly plant, service engineering and product planning teams all were critically responsible in developing and launching these vehicles, that we can now say are two of the best introduced this year."

The list of potentials for the North American Car of the Year award has now been trimmed down to 10 models, with this recent release. From here, the list will be shortened to only three models, and then a final winner will be selected and announced by the end of this year.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for Hyundai to take home the honors, but we won't have any final word until late 2014. In the meantime, if you'd like to check out the 2015 Hyundai Genesis and Sonata, head down to Reliable Hyundai - we'd be happy to show you each one!
