Hyundai has effectively strengthened their popularity over the years, evolving from a small brand to a leading competitor in the automotive industry. Their continuous efforts to develop high-quality, efficient models has played a big hand in their success, and with each year, their lineup only gets better, offering more and more first-class features for buyers to take advantage of. Due to the increasing demand for luxury based models, such as the Genesis and Equus sedans, Hyundai has even begun putting thought into developing an all-new luxury crossover. If put into production, this will mark the second time the brand has gone in this direction - a move that could greatly impact the market.
In a recent interview with Edmunds, Dave Zuchowski, head of Hyundai's North American division, said the creation of an upcoming luxury SUV is something that is "under consideration." No official plans have been made in regards to the SUV, but there is talk that it would be based off the current Santa Fe - a model that features the same underpinnings as the brand's former luxury crossover, the Veracruz. With its significant size and top-notch features, the potential luxury SUV will be in direct competition with other high-end models, such as the Cadillac SRX and Lexus RX - each perfect contenders. However, with its future still hanging on the line at Hyundai, we can't get our hopes up just yet, but we'll continue to keep our finger cross for its official reveal.
