The seventh generation Hyundai Sonata is less than a month away from its big introduction at this year's New York Auto Show and the Korean automaker just unleashed early details on what we can expect to see during its reveal. Within the small pieces of information Hyundai shared about the 2015 Sonata, what we did find out is that the new design stays true to the sedan's heritage, while incorporating innovative elements that will set it apart from the competition. Special attention has also been paid to performance and safety, enhancing the car in ways that will draw in new buyers.

To maintain the Sonata's traditional figure and also give it an updated, modern appearance, Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design was implemented, refining its curves, lines and presenting a premium aesthetic. Its wide mouth-shaped grille was also exchanged for a more appropriate hexagonal grille and its trunk was given a futuristic facelift. This fluid design is further carried out inside the Sonata, which displays high-quality materials and fine craftsmanship. Human Machine Interface qualities were also used to design in-car controls, promoting easy recognition for drivers and passengers.

A midsize sedan that has excelled in safety for years, the Sonata takes its safety precautions up another level with its seventh-generation model, using dual member structures, 51 percent of Advanced-High Strength Steel and ten times more structure adhesive in its construction. A 40-percent increase in bending and torsional stiffness was also achieved, adding to the Sonata's increased safety efforts. Along with seven airbags and additional safety features, the all-new sedan will be the epitome of security.

While you can't purchase the 2015 Hyundai Sonata in Springfield just yet, you can head down to Reliable Hyundai and test out one of our 2014 Hyundai Sonata models. A Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the 2014 Sonata is a perfect family car and exudes elegance.
